We went to Jensen's Grove in Blackfoot to day (Koltin, Kolby & Me) and had a great time although we are a little sunburned! The camera batteries were dead so no pics :(
But here are some I found on the net. We have such a fun and relaxing time there. We can't wait to go back - maybe next week!

Then we came home and April and I finished up our Visiting Teaching for the month. We are headed now to Kami Browns reception at the farm.

Some Brave Love!

Isn't it beautiful! I LOVE it!! Although my my beloved Braves have fallen on hard times - very hard times. Smoltz had season ending , maybe career ending shoulder surgery last week, Glavine is on the DL, Chipper is banged up and missing games here and there and getting old, Hampton hasn't thrown a pitch in.....3 maybe 4 years, the rest of our starting pitching is dismal, the bull pen quite frankly sucks and we have no closer. There I said it and it hurts! But Bobby Cox signed a contract extension - there is always hope!
For the rest of June and July I am going to work on my 'morning routine' - I have it all sketched out now I just need to DO it - everyday!

MURPH

I really didn't have much to post about but I came across this and just couldn't resist! Oh, how I love Dale Murphy!

Jim and Kolby are camping and Koltin is staying at Angie's so I WOULD be 'home alone' BUT Chad decided to stay home and then I invited Jess over because I was talking to her on the phone I didn't want to talk to her anymore because I was coloring my hair and by talking on the phone at the same time I was coloring the phone also - so there goes my alone time!

BEEEUTIFUL DAY! & Simple Things

Today's weather was so awesome - "not too hot or too cold - all you need is a light jacket" hahahah. But really you didn't even need the jacket!
I went to a double bridal shower tonight - a mom and her daughter - actually it was my sister-in-law Sally and niece Kami. A little strange perhaps but a very happy event and it was good to see the family. Margaret announced that Amanda will be coming home July 24th - it got me all teary - she left after Jay so it means Jay's homecoming is even closer now! 140 and counting! Just over 3,333 hours! hee hee SIMPLE THINGS I FIND SATISFYING
  • Clean Sheets
  • New Pot Holders
  • An Empty Dishwasher
  • A Good Rain Storm
  • A Baseball Game on TV (preferably the Braves!)
  • The Smell Of Lavender
  • Freshly Mowed Grass
  • Vacuuming
  • A Foot Massage
  • Diet Coke With Lime
  • Homemade Frosting
  • Having My Hair Washed At The Salon
  • Seeing A Dad Holding His Newborn Baby

To Do List's! & Visiting Teaching

OK - I was dreading summer, what with me working and the boys home alone causing havoc and killing each other and trashing the house and being slugs in front of the TV and, well you get my drift! when I was inspired - what do I do when I want to get a lot done? I make a 'to-do' list, so, instead of having assigned 'chores' that had to be done, a system that hasn't really worked in the past and one we should have abandoned along time ago, I'd have the boys each make a to-do list of things they wanted to do and that needed to be done and I would add to it as I saw fit. EUREEKA! SOOOOOO many things have gotten done - I think more has gotten done these last three weeks since school got out than all of last summer! Man - give Kolby a list and he plows through it! I don't know about the boys but I love having a to do list - it helps keep me sane when I have a million things coursing through my mind that need to be done. So I started out with them using a sheet of paper for their lists when I realized that we would be going through A LOT of paper this summer - Jim found these little notebooks on his shelf and I found some small clipboards and covered them with paper and put each boys' name on them and we hang them at the end of the counter in the kitchen! I just hope they keep working all summer - THAT would be my idea of a perfect summer! It Works For Me! And SO cute!!
.
It was my turn to give the lesson this month and am I so glad - the lesson was on our premortal existence and the quote that really hit me was from Richard G. Scott : "...You were taught and prepared for the circumstances you would personally encounter in mortality... Your memory of premortal life would be kept from you to assure that it would be a valid test, but there would be guidance given to show you how to live." What an awakening to my mind this quote was - I can't say I can't do that - whatever that is - if it is needful for me to do something - I was already taught it in Heaven - I DO know how to do things - I just need to humble myself and pray for the guidance necessary for me to accomplish the task. You hear people say all the time - I wish kids or life came with an owners manual - we don't need it - God has provided a way for us to do whatever we are asked to do - he prepared us - we need to do our part to be successful in our life here on earth. I just love this concept!

New Favorite movie!

and it is going on my Top 10 List and knocking off The Little Mermaid! It was adorable! The Elton John song Benny and the Jetts will never be the same!

They are installing our new kitchen window this morning - hopefully we can get the swamp cooler up and running - it is supposed to be another hot one today!

Tackle it Tuesday - I am going to work on my never ending and always growing to-do list.

  • Add scrapbook paper to the boy's clipboard to-do lists.

  • make my computer notebook dividers and tabs.

  • Reduce the pile of unread magazines.

  • Work on my Clutter Control class

  • gather lesson 12 of Library of Memories class and add to binder.

  • read and work on Relief Society lesson.

I am going to stop there!

Almost two weeks....!

since my last post - where does the time go?!

I just had to stop typing and go wash my hands - it is almost 200 degrees in our house and I can. not. stand. hot sweaty hands! yuk! Didn't it snow like 5 days ago - and now it is almost 90 - no kidding! BUT the window guy called and we are getting the kitchen window replaced in the morning and our swamp cooler will fit there - the new windows in the living room where the swamp cooler had been wouldn't accommodate the "ice machine" as the kids all call it! YIPPY! There is not much I hate more than being to hot.

I finished The Host on Saturday......I don't know where to start with a review. But I will say that as of right now it is the best book I have ever read. Seriously - it even beats out my beloved The Summerhouse - and I can't wait to read it again! I don't think I have ever read a book that made my cry so hard - Even harder than in the Half -Blood Prince when Dumbledore dies. Several members of my family called and the boys kind of just stood there looking at me and saying into the phone "I don't think mom can talk to you right now", I'd pull myself together and try to talk and tell them to call back later. Koltin and Kolby and I were all sitting around the dinning room table reading (Koltin was reading Twilight, Kolby was reading Fablehaven), I was crying so hard I was whimpering, the boys would glance up at me and every once in a while they would ask me if I was ok. The plot was so creative and interesting, the characters were well developed and were described so well - I could see everything in my head as it all progressed. I absolutely loved the characters -I would love to see this book made into a movie. I am so impressed with the author - I admire someone with so much creativity - she made the un-real so real to me. AND I found out that the author is Dr. Wests' wife's cousin - he said about at Jim's appointment last week when he saw I was reading it - yeah, she is just a mom. One very talented mom I say!MONDAY -???? we were going to have Sage Chicken but it needs to cook in the oven and I am NOT turning on the oven when it is 90!

Doctor Appt.

Well my thyroid is still too high despite only taking 4 doses per week, so Dr West is decreasing it again from what Dr. Callaghan had me taking. And he is prescribing a consistent dose for each day. My calcium is low too so I am taking Citracal 15oo mg.

Work was crazy - we were so non-busy until almost 1 and then bam! But I made $70 in tips in 3 1/2 hours so I'm really happy!

It is supposed to be "Tackle it Tuesday" But I am in full blown procrastination mode AND my "Tackle it Tuesday" picture icon is not working right now - so maybe next week I'll tackle something!!!
