Shimelle's prompt for today - share an inspiring poem. This single handed got me through high school and the hard teanage years. I memorized it and repeated it to myself a lot in times of need and high stress! It strengthened my testimony and comforted me. I have even more than onced used it in a talk at church.
THE MONUMENT
"God, before He sent His children to earth, gave each of them a very carefully
selected package of problems. These, He promised, smiling, are yours alone.
No one else may have the blessings these problems will bring to you. And only
you have the special talents and abilities that will be needed to make these
problems your servants.
Now go down to your birth and to your forgetfulness. Know that I love you
beyond measure. These problems that I give you are a symbol of that love.
The monument you make of your life with the help of your problems will be
a symbol of your love for me, your Father."--- Blaine M. Yorgason
I also really like this poem:
The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood
and sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveller, long I stood
and looked down one as far as I could
to where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
and having perhaps the better claim
because it was grassy and wanted wear;
though as for that, the passing there
had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
in leaves no feet had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
-I took the one less travelled by,
and that has made all the difference
I think we all like the thought of being noble and of chosing the right way - in my prayers I always ask for this help from the Lord but it is hard and the easy way and sometimes wrong way is.....well ...easy!
I got my pictures back from June's Scrap Your Day - SYD from here on out - 90 pictures!!! WOW. I did the layout and left tons of pictures off and it still has way too many - next month I will have to get creative and think of another way to do it. Here is the LO - I used 48 pictures!
